With the warmer weather here, we are set for some great fishing. All of the local impoundment dams are improving.

Coolmunda Dam, near Inglewood, is the stand out at the moment with several large Murray Cod being landed on 5/8 Spinnerbaits and large body lures such as the Jaz Aussie 200 in purple and black.

The two local dams, Leslie and Connelly, are fishing quite well.  At Leslie Dam, the fish have been quite active with good numbers of Golden Perch being landed on lures and live bait.  Most fish are being landed by casting the edges opposite the wall, with up to 8 fish caught in one session.  Small crankbait lures and 3/8 compact Spinnerbaits are goods lures to try first.

The Bass dams to the East of Warwick are also fishing very well, with moogerah producing the best numbers.  There are a lot of Bass on the move at Moogerah at present with fish being landed in all areas.  They have been caught by casting the edges as well as in the trees opposite the boat ramp.  The fish are falling to Blades, TN60 Jackalls and Spinnerbaits.  Maroon has been a bit slower.  There have been a few fish falling to Jackall Chubbys, casting between the weed pockets.

That wraps up the month’s fishing report.  Don’t forget to drop your favourite photo in to go into the monthly prize draw.  Now is the perfect time to call in and see Wayne and John at Warwick Outdoors and Sports for expert advice on all your fishing (from kids combo to tournament rigs), boating, hunting and camping requirements.  Talk to the boys who actually fish!
